Hey Peeps-

Sorry for the lack of updates! Since I moved to San Francisco, I’ve been really busy having the time of my life playing and taking photos with my friends at Photojojo! (Which has been the best photo job EVER!) I’m a happy girl.

I promise to try to post more, though! I’m finally starting to get settled into all my new routines :)

photojojo:

Our 1st Photo Movie Night and Potluck at Photojojo HQ last week!
We watched Pecker and snacked on popcorn, candy, blueberry baked goods, and fizzy drinks. (We weren’t as bad as little Chrissy, though!)
Keep an eye out for the next movie night!

Yep, we all took off our shoes and watched movies in the dark :)  I also met an awesome Photojojo reader named Marcy who helped me convert the bathroom into a darkroom so we could conduct experiments with Instax film! (more on that later…) It was really awesome, everyone I met was fantastic, and it being only my 3rd day as a Bay Area resident, helped seal the deal that I LOVE NORCAL AND ALL THE PEOPLE IN IT! ♥

I don’t like watching fireworks as much as I like watching the giant glowing cloud of smoke that remains after they’re over. ommmmmmm.

I’m excited to go road trippin’ tomorrow!

My friend Tammy sent me this photo of the aftermath of her jumping into a pool a few days ago. The obvious reaction is that I love it because it’s summer and I want to be jumping into pools too. But the more I look at it, the more I love it because it really shows the presence of a person & action without actually showing any part of them. Unlike the photos we sometimes see where you get a portrait of someone by seeing their room/possessions, this doesn’t actually show a single thing about her, yet still says a lot. Okay, maybe I’m over-thinking this, but I like it, and I like thinking about the splashes and waves of energy we all leave behind as we travel around in the world.

This is me, sneaking around my parents house at night. Shhhh…
My mom was actually sleeping in the room to the left (with the door open!) when I took this, and I had to keep running back and forth past her room while I was setting my self timer, trying not to let in too much light, and makin’ all sorts of clicky beepy photo sounds. Totally worth it, though!

I love love love this photo, and followed all the reblogs back to the the original source to find that sadly the photographer was never given credit. It’s by Alex Brown and it’s also for sale as a print on 20x200 - I wish I could buy myself a copy!

Mobile homes are where it’s at - outdated interior decor makes me so giddy.

I got to photograph the most adorable three year old girl today, and I loved every minute of it! Being a photographer rocks sometimes… okay, ALL the time.

Oh man, you guys should really check out TobySX70's gallery of Polaroid manipulations on flickr here. ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN beautiful time zero prints, manipulated by hand! This one is definitely my favorite though. So many different faces and moods of George Washington! My favorite is the second one down on the left :)

Note: reblogging a photo and intentionally stripping it of the photographer’s credit AND taking out the click-through link is not cool and usually frowned upon. I could understand taking out the text (kinda) but there’s really no point to taking out the link. Please don’t do it.. to me or to anyone else! <3 I’ve fixed it for you :) (photo by me, SP)
